Coaching is essential for players to accelerate their learning beyond that of just experience. West Squash are always looking to recruit more coaches to help the sport to grow and develop. Coaches are important at all levels, from beginners to advanced, and are the life blood of the sport.

Regional Coaching

Our best junior players train on a weekly basis out of Scotstoun Leisure Centre. Any coach wishing to come along and observe is more than welcome.

Coaching Courses

To become a qualified coach, all you need to do is attend a Scottish Squash (SSL) Coaching course. To find further information on how to become a coach visit the SSL Website. There are a variety of different levels, catering for the club member who wants to start up a junior section, to the coach who wants to coach performance players.

West Squash will subsidise members who wish to coach within the West area, through our Coach Scholarship programme. Scholarship Coaches can apply to the West committee to be mentored through either club or regional coaching sessions. Once the course and the sessions have been completed, candidates will be reimbursed 50% of their course fees. If you’re interested in becoming a coach or would like further information on subsidy, contact
