Hi everyone, good news for those of you who would like tickets to the Commonwealth Games – this press release has just come out from Glasgow2014!

Doubles Squash/Double Trouble/Double Vision!

Get ready for a double helping of intense sporting action!

Doubles Squash puts four players in an enclosed space and challenges them to show off their skills.

Players don’t just have to keep one step ahead of their opponents; they have to work in perfect tandem with their partner; anticipating, reacting and perfectly positioning every shot. The court is over 2 metres wider than a Singles court and the players use every inch of it.

They go up high, down low, and lunge in every direction as they hunt down points. Teamwork is everything and the action doesn’t let up, not even for a moment.

In Doubles Squash, the pressure is shared, but so is the joy of victory.

Play your part and support the team! Get down to Scotstoun Sports Campus for and watch Scotland in their quest for a podium finish. This is the FIRST EVER doubles glass show court with the new width and 13 inch tin. For those of you who haven’t seen Doubles played on the new 13″ tin, it’s one of the most exciting new things in world squash, in a great setting –  The arena has the showcourt set in the middle of almost 2,500 seats – for the biggest squash event ever held in Scotland. 

It would be a huge boost for squash in Scotland if one (or more!) of our teams achieved the dream of a podium finish, and it’s definitely doable – in Delhi 2010, Alan and Harry came fourth. So let’s all get behind the National Team at Glasgow2014 and give the players a massive boost by roaring them on in the Glass Court at Scotstoun!
