After the success of last year’s BigShots events, the first TEAM BigShots of 2014 will be on Sunday 5th January at Scotstoun Sports Campus, where the Commonwealth Games will be held in July 2014.

Team BigShots – New Format

Starting at 10:00 AM, the event will run until around 1:00 PM (based on entries) and will see the entrants split into teams of 4 players, and put into a either a swiss draw (playoff for final placing) or a round robin, so that every team will play each other. The format is similar to the last TEAM BigShots, but with a new twist! Instead of bonus points being given to the team that wins the match, a count back system looking at games and points won will decide which team wins the tie.

Team BigShots

The aims of TEAM BigShots are:

  • to let West juniors try team squash,
  • learn to deal with critical points and the count back system.

These events are also a great way for juniors to meet and and play other players of the same standard. It’s hoped that the January event will be the biggest and best yet, a great way to get back into squash in 2014 after Xmas and the New Year!

The event is open to juniors of all ages from all west clubs – everyone is welcome. There are always lots of players from clubs such as Giffnock, Newlands and Strathgryffe, so juniors from other clubs are more than welcome! It’s simple and easy to enter – Just click on the link below and follow the instructions. Payment is made securely through Paypal.

Due to the need to work out teams well before the event, the earlier that entries come in the easier and better it will be for all the players… so enter early and don’t miss out!
