Giffnock Juniors take on England !
Giffnock juniors are looking forward to their England Tour this summer after school finishes.
We have recently created links with some prestigous English clubs who have successful junior sections that include many junior England internationalists. The clubs are:
- Ilkley Squash Club
- Pontefract Squash Club
- Chapel Allerton Squash Club
- Carlisle Squash Club.
Nine Giffnock boys, ranging in ages from 10 to 18, will make the journey south and are especially interested in visiting Pontefract, where the world famous coach Malcolm Wilstrop has developed numerous talented young squash players (including his World No 1 son).
The boys are expecting tough opposition at each club as the the squash standard in England is arguablymuch better than in Scotland. They will play 2 matches each at the 4 clubs (8 in total), so a very physically demanding schedule is expected.
Preparations and training has already started in anticipation of a competitive squash ‘test series’!
