West BigShots Monthly Medal

West BigShots – August 4th!

This season’s West BigShots tour is about to begin – sporting a new and improved format!! Every tournament will be held on the first Sunday of the month, with the first one on Sunday 4th August at the Scotstoun Sports Campus, Glasgow.

Format

Each event will run on one day, starting at 10:00 AM and finishing at approx 2:00 PM. The tournament is run using a similar format to the SSRL circuit, using the swiss format tournament system, to ensure that everyone gets the maximum number of games possible. There will be a qualifying event followed by three rounds of matches.

The event is mixed so boys and girls will play against each other. Matches will be best of three games, using Point-a-Rally scoring to 11 points. If the score reaches 10 all, the game must be won by two clear points.

We will make every effort to have a referee for each match, however we are relying on volunteers to come along and referee, so there will be occasions where players will have to referee matches.

Order of Merit

All West BigShots results count toward the West Junior Order of Merit, which provides a regional ranking system for all of our players.

Prizes

At the end of each tournament, medals will be presented to the winner of each division.

End of the season, the following awards will be presented at the West of Scotland Squash Presentations:

Most Improved Players (1st and 2nd place)

These awards will be decided from the the players whose ratings have improved the most over the course of the season, so every match counts!

Best Newcomer

To the player who comes into the events for the first time this season and finishes the highest on the order of merit.
