In a change to our usual format, here is a pre season event to get the old bones loosened up before the main event starts!
Matches will be played on Wednesday the 8th, Wednesday the 15th and the finals will be held at a neutral venue (tbc) on Wednesday the 22nd. (If there is unprecedented entries it may be necessary to play the first round on the Wednesday the 1st, please be prepare for this as it may be short notice!)
Closing date for entries will be MONDAY 30th AUGUST @ 10:00 PM, all entries must be emailed to westsquash@gmail.com and no other address.
A poster will be uploaded to the website soon, I encourage you to print one out for your club if at all possible.
Tournament Guidance…
1) Each Matches will be composed of four ranked rubbers, each playing a best of three game using PAR15 scoring with set 1 or 3 as the tiebreak. In the event of a tie, the match will be decided on games countback, then points countback, then result of first rubber.
2) If you are drawn as the “home” team, providing hospitality is not necessary, but is strongly encouraged, check with opposing captain when you see the draw.
3) The event will be graded per the level at which your strongest named player played LAST season. (As usual, will be approximately A – Div 1/2, B – Div 2/3/4, C – 5/6/7)
4) This is an open event, ladies and juniors are strongly encouraged to participate as well!
5) Teams are of course not bound to be from the same club, however, you must have at least one home venue arranged and confirmed in advance for the Wednesday night from 19:30 (or there abouts.)
Entry will be £10 per team, this is to cover the cost of the trophies only, cheques payable to West Squash to any Committee Member or by cash/bank transfer if preferred, get in touch.
